Man convicted by Wilkinson County jury for murdering brother

69-year-old Rickey Lee Shinholster, shot his brother over a dispute.

GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – On Wednesday, a Wilkinson County jury convicted a man for murdering his older brother in 2023, according to T. Wright Barksdale III with the Ocmulgee District Attorney’s Office.

He says 69-year-old Rickey Lee Shinholster, shot his brother over a dispute concerning access to a home on Farish Wood Road.

In a Facebook post by Barksdale, he says “The senseless actions of Rickey Lee Shinholster left his entire family shattered. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Shinholster family as they continue to heal from the horrible events that took place on the night July 9, 2023.”

The post goes on to say “Thank you for obtaining justice for Ezekiel.”
