WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Houston County man has been banished from Houston County after being convicted of child molestation this week.

A news release from District Attorney William Kendall’s Office says 40-year-old Christopher Neal Waters was sentenced to a total of 30 years with 13 of those years to be served in prison.

The charge stems from an incident that happened in August of 2022. The DA’s Office says Waters was at a child’s birthday party but was sent home when he was seen masturbating.

Waters returned to his house, where an 8-year-old child also lived. While the two were alone, the DA’s Office says Waters exposed his penis to the child and masturbated again.

Waters had been previously convicted of child molestation in 2011 in Dooly County and still has pending charges in Houston County for failure to register as a sex offender.

“As I have said before, our children are the future,” DA William Kendall said. “Anyone who preys on a child has no place in our society other than prison. I am grateful for the
verdict, and for our law enforcement and prosecutors who seek justice for children when these heinous acts occur. Although we cannot go back and undo this tragic event, we hoped to have provided some closure for this child and family. We will continue our mission to serve as a beacon of hope for victims of crime and serve as a deterrent for those who seek to do evil in our community.”
