Man arrested for not telling sexual partner he has HIV

GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Gordon man has been arrested for having sex with a woman, who did not know he was HIV positive. Now police want to know if he has any other victims.

A Warner Robins woman told police she had no idea Cedric Leon Veal had HIV, according to Gordon Police Chief, Mike Hall.

Chief Hall says, they met on-line and he gave her a fake name, Terry Mays.

The unidentified woman told police she spoke with some friends who lived in Gordon and told them about her new romance.

But none of them had heard of a “Terry Mays”. However when she gave them his address, she learned that Veal had lied about his real name.

Police say, the victim met a woman Veal identified as his mother and she referred to him as “Terry.”

The Warner Robins woman told police she has been tested and did not have the virus, but she will also have to continue testing for 13 months, to ensure she does not have HIV.

Veal was arrested Saturday and charged with reckless conduct.
