Man arrested for multiple thefts in Bibb County
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy saw a car and driver matching the description of a suspect involved in some recent thefts around 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Deputies stopped the car as it exited the Zebulon Road exit at I-475 North. The man told the deputy his name was Lee Alfred, but when the deputy went to check the information, the suspect drove away.
According to a news release, deputies chased the car and caught the suspect when the vehicle turned on Bayne Street.
41-year-old William Alfred Lee Jr. is charged with three counts of theft by shoplifting, fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement and probation violation.
Other charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. Lee was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and has a bond of $2,600.
