Man arrested for breaking into Macon Rescue Mission

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is behind bars after he matched the description of a burglary suspect.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at the Macon Rescue Mission on Napier Avenue around 11:00 p.m., Sunday.

Surveillance video allegedly shows 48-year-old George Cole Jr. smashing the front door of the establishment with a rock or brick.

The suspect in the video then enter the rescue mission taking a jar of money and leaving.

Deputies found Cole in the area minutes after the incident.

He’s in the Bibb County Jail on a burglary charge.
