Major Traffic Accident Shuts Down Part of Hwy. 247

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A major accident shut down part of Highway 247 northbound.

The Macon-Bibb Fire Department and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office were on scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says the car’s driver was holding his hand over his eyes to block the sun when he crashed into the 18-wheeler.

He was transported to Medical Center of Central Georgia and is listed in stable condition.

It took almost two hours to clear the entire scene.
