Macon’s Daisy Park renovated with basketball court, splash pad

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One downtown Macon park received more than $260,000 in upgrades.  Daisy Park on Forsyth Street is open to the public.  People can now shoot hoops at the park’s renovated basketball court and kids can play in the new splash pad.

Macon-Bibb’s Parks and Recreation Director says the upgrades are a perfect getaway for a family looking to take a break from the hospital across the street.

“If the mother wants to take a break from the hospital and wants to come sit under the shade tree and read a book, or if they have a sibling that’s with the mother that’s visiting their loved one and they want to just come and run and just have fun, we’ve got a water feature for them, or if they want to shoot basketball, it’s a great opportunity for them to shoot basketball,” explains Moore.

Daisy Park is the first phase of the “triple triangle” park in the area.  Jay’s HOPE Foundation, the College Hill Alliance, and other groups contributes to funding the renovations.
