Macon’s Cherry Blossom Ball Drop starts 2015
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures were much cooler than earlier in the week, but the Cherry Blossom Ball Drop was still a success.
Hundreds filled Cherry Street Plaza downtown for the Macon tradition of watching that giant pink ball slide down its pole to mark the new year.
Music filled the air and vendors lined the sidewalks for the annual event. There were two fireworks shows–one a few hours before midnight for those who wanted to get home at a decent hour and another as the new year began.
