Macon woman claiming self-defense in shooting, charged with murder
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – 54-year old Ricky Smith was killed early this morning. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the woman responsible for shooting him called 911 claiming it was self-defense. Now, that same woman, 45-year old Donna Jackson is charged with murder.
When deputies arrived at 1132 Macon Avenue around 1:00AM, they found that Smith had been shot once on the left side of his chest. According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, he was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives later interviewed Jackson and charged her. They’re still investigating, and if you have any information, you can call them at 1-877-68-CRIME.
