Macon State College Offering New Part-Time Education Degree Program
MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Macon State College is offering a new part-time education degree program for people who might not have time to go to school full-time. The full-time program is typically 15-17 hours per semester; the part-time program will be 7-11 hours. Beginning this fall, students will have the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and special education.
Classes will be offered in the evenings, and the part-time program will include all the classes taught in the full-time program. The education department says they’ve had a lot of requests for a part-time program.
“If they are a paraprofessional, what we are most excited about is that we are
providing paraprofessionals an opportunity to actually obtain a degree while
they still keep their full-time jobs,” said Assistant Professor of Education
Loleta Sartin.
Macon State College will hold a Recruitment Fair for the Early Childhood and Special Education Part-Time Program on April 3rd from 5:30-7:00pm. It will be in the Education Building in room 231. For more information, you can email Molly Kimsey at molly.kimsey@maconstate.edu
