Macon senior citizens vote on location for new center

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Senior citizens in Macon-Bibb County picked where they want their new center to be located.

It came down to two sites: one inside Central City Park and the other nearby at the old Atlanta Gas Light property.

The architect firm got information earlier this month on what kinds of programs the group wants at the Senior Citizens Center. The forums held on Wednesday were to review the feedback.

“And showing how those two sites could be developed to accommodate the senior center programs that we identified two weeks ago,” Bruce Morris with Sizemore Group Architects said.

The seniors voted for the site inside Central City Park. The architect firm will bring the plans and budget to the commission in the next few weeks.
