Macon school honors fallen 9/11 victims
Dozens of kids from Barden Elementary School learned about the events that happened during that day 13 years ago, and also heard from first responders. The school’s counselor Wayne Barrion, says even though most of the kids weren’t even alive back in 2001, it’s still important to teach them about the importance of the day.
“We want to keep that memory alive so that our students are constantly aware that there are those who every day are putting their lives on the line to keep us safe,” Barrion said.
Representatives from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department stopped by to hear and speak at the presentation.
