Macon pizza restaurant donates profits to Mercer student group

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A pizza shop in downtown Macon is reaching out to help Mercer University students.

Fatty’s Pizza on Second Street is donating 10% of what they make all day today to the Mercer Prosthetics and Orthotics club.

The students are taking a trip to Vietnam to provide prosthetics to anyone who needs them.

Owner Cody Jones wanted to do something for his alma mater.

“I just graduated from Mercer in May so I wanted to stay connected to Mercer and the Mercer family. And we kinda had this opportunity, Mercer Prosthetics and Orthotics approached us and they were like hey would you be interested in doing a benefit night? I was really excited about it.”

Fatty’s is going to be open until 11 Thursday night, so stop by to donate.
