Macon Octoberfest Boosts Middle Georgia Economy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Octoberfest kicks off in the Cherry Street plaza today after more than a year of planning and preparation.

Octoberfest is a two day music and beer event hosted by the Harris family.

Co-Director Rebecca Harris says having this event will benefit local charities, and stimulate the middle Georgia economy.

“Everything is local to Georgia, so we’re really excited about that, and with those partnerships I think this is a wonderful thing for Macon,” Harris says.

Harris expects 2,000 to 5,000 visitors to participate in the two-day event.
