Macon man arrested for possession of meth while walking to church

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is arrested for possession of methamphetamine. 

Authorities say that the incident happened on July 4th around 12:20 a.m. while deputies patrolled the Forest Hill Road and Ridge Avenue area.  

Deputies say they saw 36-year-old Joshua Goldberg of Macon walking towards the Saint Francis Episcopal Church. 

Authorities say that the subject was carrying a large bag and went into the parking lot of the church.  Deputies say that they approached Goldberg and asked him why he was at the church so late. 

Authorities say that deputies determined that Clayton County Sheriff’s Office had a warrant for Goldberg’s arrest.

Deputies say during a search, they found a small bag of Methamphetamine and several Hydrocodone pills in his bag along with hypodermic needles.

Deputies took Goldberg to the Bibb County Jail and charged him with two counts of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance. 

Authority set Goldberg’s bond at $16,900.00.
