Macon Mayor Hears Concerns from Public in Monthly “Mayor’s Night In”
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon citizens get their chance to voice concerns and opinions to the mayor–in person.
Mayor Robert Reichert held his monthly “Mayor’s Night In” Monday night at City Hall.
Around 10 different individuals and groups met behind closed doors with the mayor in his office.
Mayor Reichert tells us he talked with citizens about everything from road design to crime issues throughout the city.
The face-to-face contact with the public allows the mayor to answer questions, address concerns, and follow-up with specific departments to resolve issues.
He wants the public to know if you can’t make it to meet with him in person, there are plenty of other ways to reach him.
“We have a presence on Facebook,” says Mayor Reichert. “We have a presence on Twitter. We do ‘Mayor’s Night In’ once a month for folks that just want to come down and talk to me face-to-face. There are e-mail addresses on Facebook and Twitter and, like I said, just direct communication.”
The mayor holds his night in on the second Monday of each month.
