Macon Mayhem, UGA Hockey partner for College Weekend double feature

The Mayhem and Ice Dawgs both take the ice tonight and tomorrow.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Mayhem will host a weekend of double-header hockey games featuring both professional and college teams at the Macon Centreplex on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, according to a Macon Mayhem news release.

The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) team will face the Fayetteville Marksmen on both nights, while the University of Georgia Ice Dawgs will compete against the University of Delaware Blue Hens in a two-game series.

Friday’s action, with the theme of “College Night,” begins at 7 p.m. with the Mayhem-Marksmen matchup, followed by the Ice Dawgs-Blue Hens game at approximately 10 p.m.

Saturday’s schedule features the Ice Dawgs facing the Blue Hens at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Mayhem’s second game against the Marksmen at 6 p.m.

Ultimate Tailgate Party Saturday

The Mayhem will host an “Ultimate Tailgate Party” between games on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., featuring food trucks, a beer garden with free sampling, and a Trunk-or-Treat presented by Georgia Peach Properties.

Saturday’s theme is “Oktoberfest.”

“Young fans are encouraged to wear costumes to the event and the game,” the release states.

The Mayhem will wear University of Georgia-inspired specialty jerseys during both games, which fans can bid on during a post-game auction Saturday night.
