Macon Mayhem opens training camp

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than two dozen players showed up to the Macon Mayhem’s first day of training camp Wednesday at the Macon Centreplex.

“There was a lot of good energy out there,” head coach Kevin Kerr said in a team release. “These guys are hungry and proving they want to earn a job. I hope they make my decisions difficult.”

The Mayhem will continue camp Thursday before playing their first exhibition game Friday in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

They’ll welcome rival Columbus to Middle Georgia Saturday for another exhibition game. Tickets for the game will cost just $5 and proceeds will go toward the Cherry Blossom Festival.

The actual season starts Friday, October 23 against defending Southern Professional Hockey League champion Knoxville.

For tickets, call the Mayhem at (478) 803-1592 or visit maconmayhem.com.
