Macon Mayhem introduces new head coach Dave Pszenyczny and reimagined team look
Macon Mayhem introduce new leadership and team branding with a "fresh" and "intimidating" look ahead of the upcoming season.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Mayhem officially introduced their new head coach, Dave Pszenyczny, at the Macon Centreplex Thursday night and also unveiled a fresh look for the team.
The updated branding features a reimagined Viking logo, now sporting a sleek black design that replaces the old navy blue. The color palette now includes ice blue, black, red and white, with the Viking’s beard incorporating a hidden letter “M” in the team logo.
Owner and CEO Chuck Norris says the changes give the team a fresh and intimidating look.
When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, Coach Pszenyczny acknowledged last season’s struggles but said he expects things to change.
“Last season obviously wasn’t very successful for this franchise, but at the end of the day, it’s a league where you can go from being in the bottom two to first, second place,” he said. “Just with new ownership and obviously with me, an assistant coach, at the helms. There’s going to be a change here, and also, we just want to make sure that we’re giving back to our fans on a daily basis.”
When asked about what brought him to Macon, Pszenyczny shared his connection with Norris and his familiarity with the league.
“I’ve had a working relationship with Chuck over all the years when I was over at another team,” he said. “It’s one of those things that fit my family and familiarity with the league and the players, so it really helps out to make that transition as opposed to moving up. Like I had mentioned during my press conference, losing a championship in this building as a former opponent, it’s nice to be on the home side, so I want to get that rich history back on the ice.”
Norris also shared his thoughts on the new coach.
“I think he, when we were looking for a new coach, the primary focus was to find somebody that understood the league, understood the level of play at the league, somebody with experience, and somebody with a certain amount of maturity that could really bring in the kind of culture that I was trying to establish here with the team,” he said. ” I think Dave checks every single box and he’s going to do a great job, so I’m super excited about it.”
Norris’s goals for the team include winning a championship and becoming a true community asset. The Macon Mayhem will play their first home game October 19 against Birmingham.
