Macon man says he was shot at, chased down Emery Highway

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent shooting and car chase.

Melvin Curry, 32, told deputies two men in a gray car pulled up beside him at the intersection of Emery Highway and Ocmulgee East Blvd. When the men started shooting at Curry’s vehicle, Curry drove away.

The men chased him until Curry’s car crashed into the Eastside Flea Market.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has placed a lookout on a gray Ford Fusion.

No injuries were reported in this incident, although another vehicle was hit by gunfire and another was struck by the small gray vehicle during the chase.

No charges have been filed and the incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
