Coroner: Man hit, killed by train early Monday in Macon

UPDATE: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the collision happened in the 3900 block of Arkwright Road.
“The incident is being investigated as a suicide,” spokesperson Sgt. Christopher Williams wrote in an email.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was hit and killed by a train early Monday morning in Macon, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Jones said 40-year-old Jeffrey Rainey was struck by a train around 4:30 a.m. and died at the scene. He said Raines’ family has been notified.
According to Jones, Rainey is believed to have been homeless. He did not specify the location of the incident.
