MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — JAG’s Pizzeria and Pub, which has operated in Macon’s Mercer Village since 2020, has permanently closed its doors.

The restaurant made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday, saying it “would rather stay and continue to serve our customers” but “a number of factors makes that possibility impractical.”

The post extended gratitude to Mercer University for its “continued support” and thanked customers and staff.

“Our JAG’S family has a trove of memories to cherish because of all of you,” the post said.

The closure follows the recent announcement of another business departure in Mercer Village. Nu-Way Weiners also closed on Tuesday, and Bear Burgers will take its place in January.
