Macon Fitness Boutique Receives Boost With New Year

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s the New Year, and naturally gyms across Middle Georgia are likely crawling with people set to fulfill those resolutions.

She’s pushing them really hard, and the ladies are responding.

For Alli Kerr, who owns the Pink Physique in Macon, New Year’s resolutions mean the iron gets pumped a little faster.

“We definitely expect our participation rates to go up in January,” said Kerr. “One of the fun things I know not only just for me as a fitness professional, but all fitness professionals–this time of year, there just isn’t enough of us to go around, because people are excited and they don’t–even people that are already members or already clients, or maybe they’ve stopped and they come back. This is the time of year that people will get back into the swing of things.”

Most of Kerr’s clients come from personal training sessions, which go on all year, but in January, enrollment is very high.

“It just means that not only me but all my staff we’re all just ready to work this time of year and we’re just ready to help people because that’s what we love to do and that’s why we’re here,” said Kerr. “If we can get them in in January and get people excited and keep them in February and March and April and May and so forth, that’s what it’s all about and that’s how we’re gonna get people results.”

And it’s those results that help the Pink Physique stay afloat–the momentum that starts in January allows Kerr to cover costs all year long.

“I love the New Year because people are so focused on health and fitness,” said Kerr. “It’s a new beginning and people are excited and they’re ready to get going.”

Get going in a big way–from Zumba classes to pumping iron, the Pink Physique hopes to create energy that will keep you chasing after that New Year’s Resolution.
