Macon family, friends mourn after Alabama slaying
Relatives and friends in central Georgia are mourning the death of a woman gunned down at a community college in Alabama. The Telegraph of Macon reports that the woman killed in Wednesday’s shooting at Southern Union Community College in
Opelika, Ala. – 62-year-old Brenda Watson – grew up in Macon and
attended Miller High School. The newspaper said Watson spent her weekends in Macon while splitting time between her mother’s Macon home and a home in Alabama. Opelika police say her son-in-law is accused of fatally shooting Watson and wounding three others.
