Macon couple camps outside Best Buy for Black Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – While most people prepare for a Thanksgiving feast, two Macon residents camped outside a popular electronics store for Black Friday.

Linda and James Albert have been living outside of the Best Buy in Macon since Monday. They wanted to make sure they were first in line for the big door buster sale on TVs and computers.

They consider themselves Black Friday experts since this is the ninth year they’ve done this.

James said living outside of a Best Buy isn’t so bad, unless you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night because everything is closed.

The weather was their biggest challenge this year.

“This year was colder than usual… Cold and rainy. Yesterday was awful,” explained Linda.

They used a queen size mattress, a tent, and a lot of fast food to get them through the week.

So why do they do it?

“We’re just doing it for friends this year. We’ve got everything we need. I’ve got her and she’s got me,” said James.

The Alberts said it’s definitely worth it. They plan to continue their tradition in the following years.
