Macon County Bulldogs buying in as offense shines so far in 2026

MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon County football team has been red hot to start the season, and the Bulldogs are putting up some impressive numbers on Friday nights.

The team is off to a 3-0 start while averaging over 40 points a game. With a new leader at the helm, and a new system in place, the Bulldogs have answered the bell every chance they’ve had. Head Coach Sheddrick “Spoon” Risper spent almost three decades in Macon, but now he’s making the most of his newest opportunity in Macon County, and he credits his players for buying in immediately.

“Their effort is 100 percent there,” Risper said.  “When you have effort and discipline, all the other things will take care of themselves.”

“We know that we have some bumps in the road down the line, but we’ve been taking it game by game,” Senior running back Noah Parker said. “When we meet those teams that’ll give us a fight, we’re gonna fight, and we’re gonna produce, and do what we have been doing all year.”

“This team is capable of making it to the Dome,” Senior linebacker and running back Kenzarien Reeves said. “I trust wholeheartedly that this is the team to do it. Hopefully, we have a ring on our finger when it’s all said and done.”

The Bulldogs will be looking to improve their record to 4-0 Friday night in Hawkinsville against the Red Devils.
