Investigators ask for help in unsolved Macon murders from 1989, 1996 and 2007
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit is investigating three unsolved murders spanning nearly two decades.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Regional Crimestoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving three separate cold cases from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit.
The first case involves 16-year-old Valinda Williams, who was murdered on July 26, 1989. According to Crimestoppers, her body was found in the stairwell of the Macon Health Club. Investigators say every detail matters and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
The second case involves the death of an unidentified Black male known as “Shorty.” Crimestoppers says the man’s remains were discovered in a vacant field in Macon on November 2, 2007. Investigators believe he was murdered sometime between May and October 2007. He was estimated to be between 55 and 70 years old, about 5’3″ and 5’10” tall, and was known to drive a brown or tan Cadillac DeVille.
The third case involves 39-year-old Barbara Crenshaw, whose body was found in Echeconee Creek in south Bibb County on March 19, 1996. Crimestoppers says she was last seen with a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, in his mid-30s, with brown hair.
Rewards of $2,000 are being offered for information leading to arrests in each case.
