Macon City Councilman Suing Over Election Results

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Elections for the new Macon Bibb consolidated government may be over, but one former commission candidate is taking the results to court.

Macon city councilman Henry Ficklin is suing District 2 Commissioner-Elect Larry Schlesinger, and Macon-Bibb Board of Elections Supervisor Jeanetta Watson.

Ficklin claims his name was not included on absentee ballots prior to the runoff election on October 15.

He also believes his name wasn’t on certain electronic ballots as well.

Schlesinger beat Ficklin by 26 votes…

41NBC reached out to both Watson and Schlesinger on the phone Tuesday,

Watson could not be reached for comment and Schlesinger said he hadn’t seen the suit yet, and didn’t want to comment until he was familiar with it.
