Deputies say man arrested after chase in stolen car in Macon

Deputies say the suspect fled into a backyard before being taken into custody.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is in custody after deputies say he led them on a chase in a stolen vehicle Wednesday while armed with a handgun.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the chase ended on Bloomfield Drive after the driver fled and ran into a backyard.

Investigators say the vehicle, a Toyota Camry, had been reported stolen April 17 and was also displaying a stolen license plate.

Deputies identified the suspect as 27-year-old Tylaun Mullins. Deputies say Mullins was armed with a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mullins is charged with driving under the influence of drugs, theft by receiving stolen property in two counts, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of substances with intent to manufacture Schedule I or II controlled substances, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, obstruction of law enforcement and probation violation.

Jail records show he’s being held without bond.
