Macon Chamber announces “Macon Now 3.0” fundraising campaign

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Chamber of Commerce announced its third phase of a multi-million dollar campaign called “Macon Now 3.0.”

The agency made the announcement Thursday about the $2.7 million economic development fund raising campaign. It will help lure new restaurants and housing in downtown Macon.
 
The senior vice president of the Macon Economic Development Commission, Pat Topping, says the money will be used for the business community, the foundation community, and other projects. Topping added they have three goals.

“To enhance our existing industry program, to strengthen our recruitment program, and to work with workforce development to work with colleges, universities and our K through 12,” Topping said.

Topping added they will be working with the students to help them get ready to become a part of the city’s viable workforce.
