Macon burglary suspect arrested after locking himself inside home

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man accused of breaking into a Macon home was arrested after he locked himself inside one of the rooms.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic call at a home on Decatur Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Reports state a resident told authorities Christopher Poole broke into the home.

When deputies arrived at the house, the sheriff’s office says Poole locked himself inside a back room. A resident alerted authorities there was a gun inside the home.

Bibb County Sheriff’s hostage negotiators and the SWAT Team was called to the scene. Poole was taken into custody around 9:30 p.m.

Poole is charged with burglary, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and terroristic threats. He also has an outstanding warrant an unrelated charge from Houston County.
