Macon-Bibb Transit Authority will resume regular paratransit service
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb Transit Authority will resume its regular paratransit service starting Thursday.
According to a news release from the Transit Authority, the regular service will replace the “essential travel only” policy that the Transit Authority started in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paratransit riders must continue to call and schedule trips and fares for paratransit and fixed route services will still be free.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Macon-Bibb Transit Authority will still do the following:
- Continue to take the temperature of paratransit and fixed route riders before they board any buses. Their temperature must be below 100.4 degrees.
- Paratransit and fixed route riders must continue to wear a face covering. Face coverings include a traditional/recognizable mask, a makeshift mask, a bandana, fabric or cloth that is secured to the passengers head and is shielding their mouth and nose.
The news release goes on to say that all other current Macon-Bibb Transit Authority policies and procedures will remain the same.
