Macon-Bibb to take possession of Little Richard home
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Georgia Department of Transportation is handing over the Little Richard Penniman House to Macon-Bibb County.
Plans are for GDOT to rehab the house on fifth street and move it to Craft Street. GDOT is investing $10 million in community improvements ahead of the I-75/I-16 expansion project.
The house is currently a few feet from I-75.
County leaders are hoping to use the house as the “Richard Penniman Resource Center” once the renovations are complete.
