MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – First responders from all over Macon-Bibb were recognized Monday for their hard work.
The thank-yous are part of national EMS week. Officials stressed the time the first responders give 24/7 all year round.
Paramedic manager Steve Hamlin, says he and his crew don’t get recognized often, so it’s a nice change.
“Having someone as special as the mayor take the time, along with other officials and other commissioners, to recognize us and appreciate the dedication and sacrifice that it takes to be available to the community really means a lot to us,” Hamlin said.
The city officially read out a proclamation Monday with physicians, nurses, medical technicians, firefighters and others on hand.
