Macon – Bibb Mayoral Candidate Receives Endorsement From Law Enforcement Group

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon – Bibb Commission mayoral candidate Sam Hart got a big endorsement on Monday.

The middle Georgia area Police Benevolent Association is backing him on the ballot.

The local PBA chapter screened four of the seven mayoral candidates back in June, asking candidates questions about law enforcement.

Hart says the group’s decision to endorse him shows his commitment to fighting crime.

“This group feels that I am the one who can best work with them, because it’s a partnership and especially in terms of the new arrangement with Sheriff being the chief in law enforcement office, it’s going to be important that you have somebody who can work across the line to make sure that you work with them,” Hart said.

The PBA provides legal representation for officers who get into trouble in the line of duty.

Hart says if he’s elected, he’ll be committed to doing he can to work law enforcement.
