Macon-Bibb Health Department goes “Pink in the Parking Lot”
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Amerigroup chose to celebrate those who’ve lost their lives to breast cancer by going “Pink in the Parking Lot” on Monday.
In partnership with the Macon-Bibb County Health Department, vendors passed out health information and tips to people going inside the health department building.
“You know someone who has had it or is going through it,” Russell Guess said. “Just to bring awareness, just to celebrate those that have gone on or those are going through it right now, we just want to lift them up.”
At the event was music and give-a-ways, all aimed at creating awareness for breast cancer.
The Macon-Bibb County Health Department offers free clinical breast exams in October on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the clinic at 478-749-0411 to schedule your appointment.
