Macon-Bibb FY 15 audit shows county spending money wisely
The fiscal year 15 audit from accounting firm Mauldin and Jenkins shows the county has enough money in it’s general fund balance to operate for three months without any income. It also shows the county is following all required rules and regulations.
“They’re being very prudent as well when it comes to segregation of duties and controls. They pretty much handwrote all of their handbooks, policies and procedures when they merged the two entities together. You’re seeing the fruits of that labor. All that time and effort to do things right the first time,” says Miller Edwards from Mauldin and Jenkins.
The accounting firm recommended the county make some changes to a few housekeeping procedures.
