Macon-Bibb’s Frank Johnson Recreation Center Pool to open on Friday

Macon-Bibb County announced Thursday that the Frank Johnson Recreation Center pool, located at 2227 Mercer University Drive, will open on Friday, June 14.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County announced Thursday that the Frank Johnson Recreation Center pool, located at 2227 Mercer University Drive, will open on Friday, June 14.

The pool at the Frank Johnson Recreation Center joins the pools at Booker T. Washington Community Center (401 Monroe Street), Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center (3326 Ocmulgee East Boulevard) and South Bibb Recreation Center (7035 Houston Road).

All pools are open Tuesday through Friday from 1-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There’s a $1 entry fee per person.

The Macon-Bibb Recreation Department is still hiring lifeguards. If you’d like to apply, click here.

Splash pads at Daisy Park (1021 Daisy Park), Rosa Jackson Recreation Center (1211 Maynard Street), Freedom Park (3301 Roff Avenue) and South Bibb Recreation Center are open. Crews are still working on opening the splash pad at Filmore Thomas Park.
