Macon-Bibb EMA prepares the public for possible emergencies
Officials are hosting a series of public presentations this month to help people prepare for the worst case situations. The Deputy Director for Macon-Bibb EMA, Spencer Hawkins, said the most common disasters for the Middle Georgia area are tornadoes and flooding.
“They’re going to learn the basic three step process in planning for disasters which is writing an emergency plan, building their emergency kit and how to stay informed. When they leave this presentation, they’re going to have a good start on their family emergency plan,” explained Hawkins.
There are four more presentations:
September 10 – 7:00 p.m.
September 18 – 12:00 p.m.
September 21 – 7:00 p.m.
September 29 – 12:00 p.m.
All presentations will be at the Macon-Bibb Government Center.
