Bibb County School District opens Pre-K lottery applications on February 5

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County School District has announced the opening of its Pre-K Lottery application process.
The application window, set to begin on February 5 and conclude on February 29, is accessible online at www.bcsdk12.net/prekapp.
Students must turn 4 years old on or before September 1, 2024 to qualify for the program.
“Pre-Kindergarten provides opportunities for children to build a strong foundation and excitement for learning,” the district’s Director of Elementary Services, Olena Stadnik, said. “We help develop their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, teach them how to take care of themselves, as well as build strong literacy and numeracy foundations. We teach in ways that interest our students through games, play, music, physical activities, arts, read-alouds, dramatic play and more. Our Pre-K graduates enter Kindergarten with confidence from the beginning and continue to strive throughout their education career.”
A lottery will offer slots in 21 elementary schools across the district and at Northwoods Academy. Selected families will be required to provide additional documentation for residence, identification and immunization.
