Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says number of suicides this year breaks previous record
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In some ways the year is coming to a close in Macon-Bibb on a very sad note. Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones says as of right now 25 people have committed suicide in Macon-Bibb. It shatters the record set back in 2011. In that year 23 people took their own lives. The youngest person to commit suicide this year was a female, who was just 14 years old. When it comes to murders so far this year, the number stands at 29.
