Deputies: Man charged after crashing into bank, driving away in Macon

Deputies say the suspect was later found and arrested after leaving the scene.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man is facing DUI and hit-and-run charges after deputies say he crashed into a bank while trying to use an ATM and then drove away.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, it happened Saturday, May 2 on Log Cabin Drive. According to a Facebook post, it appears to have happened at Robins Financial Credit Union.

Deputies say the suspect was later located on Heath Road and taken into custody. They identified him as Jasper Middlebrooks. He’s charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run and criminal damage to property.
