Bibb County deputies say the shooting happened Thursday afternoon and remains under investigation.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 13-year-old boy is in stable condition at the hospital after what Bibb County deputies believe to be an accidental shooting Thursday afternoon at a home on Mikado Avenue.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies responded just after noon to a home in the 4100 block of Mikado Avenue after a call to the E-911 center reported a person had been shot. When deputies got there, they found the boy with a single gunshot wound.
No one else was injured.
The initial investigation indicates it was a “self-inflicted accidental shooting,” the release said. The investigation continues.
