Longtime 41NBC chief photographer dies

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – 41NBC has lost a member of the family.

Robert Hughes, our chief photographer, passed away over the weekend. Robert was a friend, a mentor, a confidante, a shoulder to lean on, and most of all an all around special angel on this earth.

Every time you turned on the news from our very inception, there more than likely was video in our newscasts from Robert.

Robert was a Savannah State alum and a Vietnam veteran who retired from Robins Air Force Base.

He worked at WGXA and WMAZ before coming to 41NBC in 2004.

He leaves behind a wife, three children, several grandchildren, and a family here that will sorely miss him.
