UPDATE: 9-year-old girl dies after being struck by SUV on Log Cabin Drive

The sheriff’s office identified the girl as Ta’neyah Andrews. She died at the hospital after Saturday night’s collision near Gadson Drive.

UPDATE (9/13/26): A 9-year-old girl struck by an SUV on Log Cabin Drive Saturday night has died, according to an updated news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office identified her as Ta’neyah Andrews and said she died at the hospital. Her family has been notified.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 9-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by an SUV on Log Cabin Drive Saturday night, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Gadson Drive.

Deputies say a 31-year-old woman driving a white Toyota Highlander struck the girl as she crossed the road. Deputies spoke with the driver at the scene.

The girl was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where medical staff listed her in critical condition. The sheriff’s office is withholding her name pending notification of her family.

The collision remains under investigation.
