Local police department hosts ‘Coffee with a Cop’

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It didn’t take long for community members to warm up with a cup of joe, and learn more about the Warner Robins Police Department at its fourth annual ‘Coffee with a Cop.’

Dozens came to the Starbucks on 2729 Watson Boulevard to visit, talk and learn more about the police officers.

The event aimed to take the officers, and community members out of a stressful environment, and give visitors an opportunity to relax, and ask any of the officer questions, according to WRPD representative Jennifer Parson.

Officer Brian Hubbard says he wants to be transparent with the citizens he protects and serves.

“I know most times people’s encounters with a cop is not on good terms, so we’re just kind of here to actually show them we’re here to help,” says Hubbard.

WRPD plans to host ‘Coffee with a Cop’ quarterly. The next chance to participate will be in February.
