Local gallery shows iconic musicians including Allman Brothers for First Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – First Friday means a night filled with fun and interesting places to go but what’s more interesting than a little history combined with art and some major Macon music moguls?

Gallery West on Third Street has portraits of some of Macon’s greatest musicians, but most notably–The Allman Brothers.

Owner Kirsten West says what’s unique about photos in the gallery is that they capture moments much earlier in their careers.

“We do have rock, country, blues and we have a lot of iconic photos of people like Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones in addition to of course The Allman Brothers Band, so there’s a lot to choose from,” she said.

Gallery West is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., but they stay open a little later on First Fridays. If you didn’t catch it this time, you can always try again next month or any other time they’re open.
