Local church to donate a portion of food truck proceeds to Macon Outreach

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A church in Macon is bringing in the giving season with a food truck festival.

Martha Bowman United Methodist had residents come out Sunday to walk around and enjoy several local food truck favorites.

Volunteers also encouraged residents to bring canned food items that would go to Macon Outreach.

They’re partnering with the group for the approaching holiday season.

“This month we’re focusing on hunger. Kind of our big idea is ‘feed the need’ and focusing on helping meet the need in this community of those who need a little help putting their meals on the table,” said Fran Magoni.

5-10% of the proceeds from the food trucks will go to Macon Outreach and later this month they’ll team up again to host a ‘shop and drop’.

Church members will leave service early to go to the grocery store and buy items to donate back to Macon Outreach.
