Local Church Gets a Facelift after Several Decades

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One local church celebrated a much needed renovation after 40 years.

Today, Ash Street Church of God in Christ members rededicated their building and celebrated a new beginning.

41NBC sat down with Pastor Ron Engram who says the project took nearly $250,000, and 8 months to complete.

He hopes his members understand no matter the surface of the building, hard work and sacrifice pay off.

“As we go through our rededication of the building that they would think about their spiritual building…that the Lord might work through them,” Pastor Engram says, “I’m hoping that they would look through the edifice, and realize, and understand that the work that we have done to get us to the point…took sacrifice.”

The church motto for 2014 is the “pursuit of greatness.”
