Lizzie Baptist Church hosts annual William Todd Beach ‘Bike-O-Rama’
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Christmas came a few days early in Macon. Lizzie Chapel Baptist Church hosted its annual William Todd Beach ‘Bike-O-Rama’.
Parents and children were all smiles as they awaited good tidings on their two-wheelers.
From ten-speeds to trikes, church members and organizers came together to top years prior and give away 160 brand new bikes.
“That’s the joy of it–to be able to brings just a little bit of happiness to the kids at this time. It’s nothing like waking up and seeing a new bike under the tree. It’s just something about that sparkling bike that you see. It just gives us such joy,” said organizer Keith Holmes.
Donations for the bikes came from a number of organizations including 100 Black Men and church members from several local churches including Union Baptist Church and Community Church of God.
